Kurt & Marlene Schimke, along with their four children,have been missionaries with African Bible University in Kampala, Uganda since Fall 2006. Kurt serves as a full-time professor at the University, while Marlene assists in part-time work. Kurt teaches subjects of Church History, African History, Romans, Corinthians, Leadership, Counseling, and Biblical Ethics. He also is the coordinator of the campus Evangelism and Outreach program. Marlene taught Speech Communication 1 & 2 for the past years, is currently serving as Dean of Women, and home schools their four children.

African Bible University has been offering classes in Kampala, Uganda since 2005. They are one of the three current campuses of African Bible Colleges, which originally started in Liberia, then opened in Malawi, and now is operational in Uganda. It's a four-year bachelor's degree program offering degrees in Biblical Studies, Christian Community Leadership, both with emphases in either Communication, Education or Bible Translation.
